Onokpasa, who earlier faulted Tinubu’s appointment of Daniel Bwala as spokesman, stated this during an appearance onArise News, a video of which was shared on YouTube on Monday.
He said Tinubu should not be appointing into his government those who insulted him and other APC leaders in the buildup to the 2023 presidential election while those who actively worked for his victory have been ignored.
The APC chieftain said he would reconsider his support for Tinubu in 2027 if the president does not stop this “bizarre behaviour”.
Asked if he would support Tinubu in 2027, he said, “Not at all, unless he retraces his steps.”
Asked if he would leave the APC, he fired back: “Does the party belong to President Tinubu? We all formed the party. What is the meaning of that?”
Onokpasa added, “I will only support him in 2027 if he retraces his footsteps, respects our party members and if he stops this bizarre behaviour of insulting all of us in the party by giving appointments to people who insulted us, people who called him a drug baron and drug dealer.”
He said he was surprised that Tinubu allowed political opponents to call him a drug dealer without evidence.
“Even if Bola Tinubu was not the president. Let’s say he was just a truck pusher, you ought not to call him a drug dealer without evidence.
“This is a prominent individual and then someone keeps calling him a drug baron without evidence. This is the same person President Tinubu gives appointment to? What an insult. Is the president trying to justify the statement the person made?” Onokpasa queried.
He added, “If the president continues this trajectory of disrespecting our party members, treating us as if we are beggars with the narrative of ‘cool down, your appointment is coming’, appointment my foot! Who told him I need appointment from him?”
