Primate Ayodele was speaking at the international headquarters of his church at Ejigbo, Lagos on Friday, November, 29, 2024.
He maintained that the tax system will be for the benefit of Nigeria as a whole.
Primate Ayodele however expressed reservations over its outcomes saying that there is the likelihood of mismanagement of the tax
He said he saw mismanagement and he saw corruption destroying the good intentions of the tax system.
He said if the tax system is properly management, it would be fantastic.
He disclosed that he is afraid of the negativity and unsustainability of the tax system.
Ayodele said, “It is a good thing but the fact is that it can affect the poor people and also it is a good development.
“But it is about mismanagement of it, if it is properly managed, that will be very fantastic, at least it will better the country.
“But I am afraid of the negativity of it and sustainability, because the agenda will not be too fine because I see it covered with corruption.
“So it is a good development, it will start on a very good note but looking at it, it would not bear fruit at the end of the day,” Primate Ayodele said with prophetic finality.
