Representing the chairman and philanthropy at the distribution of the kind gesture, Mr. Nasir Ramon, said, chief Tony Elumelu, a son of the community remained steadfast in his commitment to empowering communities and changing lives.

He explained that the chairman kind gesture was in line with the spirit of celebration of the Christmas, especially to show love, kindness, and generosity.

In his statement; “today we gather to celebrate the spirit of Christmas—a season of love, kindness, and generosity. This event is a testament to the deep commitment of Tony Elumelu to his roots, his people, and his vision for a better and brighter future for all”.

He continued:, “he has not only made an indelible mark on the global stage but continues to impact lives right here in his hometown.”

He maintained that the distribution of the rice to everyone in the community is to show care and ensure that no one is left without the joy of Christmas, adding “the distribution of the rice is a simple but profound gesture of love—a way of ensuring that families in this community enjoy the festive season with dignity and happiness”.

“This initiative reflects the values Elumelu embodies—hard work, generosity, and the unshakeable belief that when we lift others, we rise together.”

He enjoined others who well-to-do to always give back to their community, no matter how small.

He said: “this act of kindness, It reminds us that giving back, no matter how small, makes the world a better place. As we receive these gifts today, let us also commit to being a blessing to others in whatever way we can”.

He, however, “encourage the community and individual to embrace this spirit of giving and unity, not just during Christmas but in our everyday lives.”

Speaking in an interview, representative of the Obi of Onicha-uku Kingdom at the event, His Royal Majesty, Obi Raphael Okonkwo Agbamuche ll, Chief Steve Osakwe, Ede of Onicha-uku Kingdom expressed gratitude to chief Tony Elumelu for putting smiles on their faces in the spirit of celebration.

According to him, ” we are very happy about the kind gesture, he has been doing it before, but this year own is seen higher and we grateful”.

Chief Osakwe called on others who have the means to always remember that home is the best and try to take of people at home.

Thanking Tony Elumelu for his kind gesture and remembering his kinsmen, and others in the community, the Onihe of Onicha-uku, Diokpa Ephraim Osubor said God will continue to bless him and place him at the pinnacle of his desires.

Others who spoke also rain praises on him saying God will continue to protect and guide him in all his endeavors.

The distribution’s method includes: place, 50 bags of rice, school of nursing 50 bags, Non- indigents 50 bags, youths 100 bags, Local Vigilante 50 bags,

CAN 100 bags, Village Quarters…560 bags, Tony Elumelu Home 90 bags and TEC 200 bags.

Each of the representative of the unit was present at the event to receive the items.
