According to Moscow Times, Interfax cited a defence ministry statement saying the helicopter went down in an uninhabited region, and all crew members died. Preliminary findings indicate that a technical malfunction might have caused the accident.

Defence officials are investigating the cause of the malfunction to determine what led to the crash.

The investigation aims to clarify the factors involved in the incident.

Unsubstantiated claims from pro-Kremlin sources suggest the Mi-28 helicopter was on a mission to intercept drones in the Bryansk region before crashing during its return. These reports have yet to be verified.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident to determine the helicopter’s actual mission and the cause of the malfunction that resulted in the crash.
