Nigerian footballer Paul Julius has passed away, aged 20, after he was involved in a fatal car accident. The Jos-born striker only recently joined Cypriot side Enosis Neon Paralimni FC earlier in the summer. He has now tragically passed away following a ghastly car crash that happened in Protaras, Famagusta District, Cyprus.
According to Cypriot publication Philenews, the police said that Julius was driving on the Paralimni-Protaras road when his car collided with another vehicle driving in the opposite direction.
The incident was said to have happened around 6:30 a.m. this morning. The driver of the other car involved in the accident is a 74-year-old who is reported to be in stable condition after being taken to the hospital. Sadly, Julius was not as lucky.
The Famagusta Traffic Department are investigating the collision and have asked witnesses to contact the department with any information regarding the incident.
