This was one of the decisions taken at the Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Seyi Makinde last night.

In a release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the State deploys a huge sum of funds to help farmers and to increase harvests.

According to the Commissioner, Billions of Naira are spent on fertilizers, seedlings, subsidy on tractorization, feeds on livestocks, among others.

“While the State Government will continue to encourage agrarian inter-state transactions, it will not shy away from ensuring that due diligence is followed.” He said

“Agriculture Posts will be mounted at borders to ensure compliance with the new directive.”

According to the Release, the Council also approved the expansion to the scope of work at the ongoing upgrade of Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan.

These include expansion of aviation facilities such as installation of Led Gantry, a facility that provides information on sundry aviation transactions such as Flight schedules, Advertisements, Weather forecasts among others.

In continuation of it’s efforts to improve inner roads in the State, the Commissioner said the Council also approved the asphaltic rehabilitation of the Renaissance High School Road, off Agugu – Ode Aje Road, the Basorun Oluwo Nla Road and Road 25 on Basorun Housing Estate, Ibadan.

The Commissioner recalled that before now, 34km of inner roads out of the 84km earmarked within Ibadan metropolis have already been completed.

He said that inner roads in other part of the State are also being addressed.

The Information Commissioner added that the Council also approved the procurement of Vehicles to assist the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in its duties.
