As stated in the Daily Post story from Sunday, he claimed that after making his way back to his hamlet, he was informed that police were searching for him in his home. He went on to say that when he went there to see them, he was arrested.

He said, “I escaped to my village. I was called that police are in my house and are looking for me, so I went to meet them and I was arrested.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Funsho Adegboye, said that the suspect was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by the Edo High Court.

Adegboke said that while the case was still going on in court, the suspect threatened that the case would not have an end. He said that true to the suspect’s threat, the people who were coming to testify in court died mysteriously. He added that the suspect was still convicted.

He said, “After escaping from the prison during the 2020 #EndSARS protest, he was not re-arrested, but nemesis has caught up with him and he has been re-arrested and would be taken to where he belongs.”

Speaking about how the suspect was re-arrested, the police boss said that they got information that the suspect was sighted at Ososo community in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the state. He said after that, they stormed the community and re-arrested the suspect and brought him to the command.
