He questioned Wabara’s loyalty to the PDP, citing his recent support for Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party.
According to Wike, Wabara prematurely endorsed Otti for a second term, although Otti has not yet completed his first year in office.
“Wabara is the PDP BOT chairman, but he’s already guaranteeing the second term of a governor from another political party,” Wike stated.
“How can he claim to be the conscience of our party while making such declarations?”
Wike further criticized Wabara’s ascent to the BOT chairmanship, suggesting it was the result of questionable motives.
He referenced a crisis within the PDP during the 2023 presidential campaign, where Wabara led a delegation to visit him.
“Do you know how he became the chairman of the PDP BOT?” Wike asked.
“In 2023, he led a team to visit me about the crisis in the party, but where is the report from that meeting? The next day, they made him acting chairman of the PDP BOT to compensate him.”
Wike concluded by dismissing any notion that Wabara could provide effective leadership within the PDP, questioning the former Senate President’s capacity to lead the party in such a critical role.
