[BREAKING] Ondo Guber: Account For Funds From Federation Account, AP Candidate Challenges Aiyedatiwa

The governorship candidate of the Accord Party (AP) in Ondo State, Dr Ajibola Falaiye, has asked Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to account for the #65.6 billion that accrued to the state government from the federation account. Falaiye lamented the underdevelopment in the state despite the huge resources that have come to the state through the 13 percent oil derivation account and other sources both at the state and other sources.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking ahead of the commencement of his campaign tour ahead of the election, Falaiye said the over four million citizens of the state deserve to know what the government has done with their money

According to him, the grant from the Federal Government for artisans has been turned to Ondo Care saying instead of 5000 people that were supposed to be catered for, the number has been turned to 100

He said the government of AP would address these imbalances if voted to power in the November 16 governorship election in the state. He said there would be enough money for the empowerment of the citizens.

Also, the governorship candidate said the All Progressives Congress APC-led state government should give the list of those who have benefited from the palliative of the Federal Government following the removal of subsidy from oil by the government.

He, however, blamed the underdevelopment on the godfathers who were breathing down on the neck of the governor.

His words, “Ondo State does not need a godfather. Godfather had been the bain of development because of the amount used to satisfy their greed.”

Speaking on his plan for the people of the state, Falaiye said “We will empower Amotekun to protect farmers in their farms. We will employ agronomists to help develop agriculture.

“We will acquire land in each local government for farming. There will be a marketing board in each of the local governments.

“The government in power is insensitive to the plight of farmers. We are out to make sure that the local government takes charge.

“We will focus on agriculture and local government autonomy, among other initiatives to take the state to greater heights if elected as the governor in the November 16 gubernatorial election.

“I will replicate many of our past heroes’ plans, like those of Chiefs Obafemi Awolowo, Adekunle Ajasin, and Adebayo Adefarati”

While stressing the importance of diverse agricultural inputs at the local government level, Falaiye aims to establish government farmlands in each local government area of the state, with different farm products from each council.

Falaiye also highlighted the significance of local government autonomy, particularly in strengthening grassroots governance within the agricultural sector.

He advocated for the empowerment of local government chairmen, emphasizing the need to allow them to better understand and address the needs of farmers within their jurisdictions.

His words “Local governments need to have autonomy. The chairman of the local government will be able to know the nooks and crannies of that area, to the extent that farmers in each of the farms will be allowed to rise.”

Falaiye expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in the conduct of local government elections.
